I have yesterday and today off. I went in for a couple of hours yesterday to help the sub get out of the office. I will do the same today. I let her use my rain gear yesterday but I`m sure she got drenched. It rained very hard here in the late afternoon and into the evening. It`s cloudy out now but predictions are for sun later. Warming up to around 60.
Watching TV and reading the news how they think the drug ecstasy may cause long term brain damage. duh, don`t you think any mind altering drug may cause brain damage? Of course the kids won`t believe it because it can`t happen to them. They are invincible. The next generation may become the fried brain generation. So many are frying thier brains. Drugs are everywhere. I can only hope and pray that with our guidance as parents and a little self control my kids can avoid the temptation and say no to drugs. That probably should be a lot of self control. The more you hear, the worse it gets. Illegal drugs are showing up in elementary schools all the time. Kids are experimenting at a much younger age.And there are so many. It boggles the mind.

It`s sweater time these mornings. About ten or so the sweater comes off. It`s beautiful though. Predictions are that we will get a downpour due to the effects of hurricane Isadore. Supposed to hit here late tonight. And me with tomorrow and Saturday off. Oh darn. That means our new sub gets the nasty weather. She is doing very well on the job. She is a quick learner. She knows the town anyway so that`s a big help. She knows most of the people also. She is a town lister and is on the school board. Beside that, she is a nice lady. She was aslo my next door neighbor for a couple of years before they sold the house. There, have I given her enough of a boost.(She deserves itLegion meeting last night. Hardly anyone there. I was home within an hour. Vietnam Vets meeting tonight. Hope to get the few more we need for the charter.

Autumn has arrived. The leaves are changing into thier fall colors and there is a chill in the air.Chilly mornings but no frost yet(knock on wood). It warms up pretty well during the day. I still have a few tomatoes in the garden. What a crop I had this year. Gave lots to family and friends. Sister Isoline(local nun) took a lot for the shut-ins. Still a few more to enjoy. Boy were they good tasting.
Sent out 128 invitation letters to Vietnam Veterans this morning. We are trying to form a chapter of Vietnam Veterans of America(see link) in Addison County. Got a call this afternoon and we have a new member. We also have a life member(dues are paid for life). Only need a few more and we can send for our charter.

A very quiet Sunday. Cloudy but still very warm. Above 70 at 11:00am. I`m enjoying my day off. Tomorrow I get to train a new employee. She worked with Mike last week and this week she gets to learn my route. It`s always hard to train someone new but it needs to be done. Our other part-timer has moved on. She will become a window clerk in Shelburne. I wish her luck. I think it`s tougher dealing with the public from behind that counter. "The customer is always right." Even when they are not. They know it all.Yeah, sure.
We are taking our son Shawn shopping today. He had a birthday last Monday and part of his gift is to go buy stuff today. He wants a music CD and a plaything or 2. He turned 12. Our daughter Tiffany turns 14 on Oct 1st. She wants CD`s and clothes. We`ll do our best. Probably let her pick them out as anything we get isn`t quite right.

Thanks Brad. I shall not write too much. Promise. Though I must say it is really strange seeing your editing box as it is similar to mine, but also quite different. It feels like I'm somewhere I shouldn't be. .....
