Lots of mail today. It always seems to catch up with us on Mondays. Kim(the new sub) came in late in the morning to sort mail for tomorrow. She put a lot in our cases. Unfortunately, we have to carry it tomorrow.
Friends of ours let thier daughter go to the mall with a friend and her family recently. She came home with her belly button pierced. Her parents were upset. Her friends parents thought she had permission to have it done. The point of all this is that in Vermont a minor does not need parental consent to have body piercings or tattoos done. The legislature presented a bill last session to make it a law that parental consent needed to be granted but it was defeated. They were afraid if they passed that, they would have to do the same with birth control and abortions. How stupid can they be. Now we have to sit back and let minors do as they wish. I`m sorry but I won`t watch it happen. I told my daughter that if she ever came home with anything pierced other than her ears I would remove whatever they put in and the hole would be allowed to heal. I am just appalled that anyone at any age can go and get body piercings.
