Another hectic week. Seems like that`s all I have lately. Jean went back in the hospital on the 6th. She was feeling yucky and her doctor wanted her watched. With congestive heart failure and diabetes any sickness can be serious. They are thinking it`s a virus type thing. She should be able to come home today. I took yesterday off and since this is my week-end off, I have the next 4 days. Monday is Veteran`s Day. Another Federal holiday.
I worked Monday, Tuesday and part of Wednesday. I came home for break on Wednesday and Jean wanted me to take her to the hospital. I talked to the Postmaster and he called in the sub to finish the route. There was very little political mail this week. I guess they had enough last week. I know we did. The elction was Tuesday. I did my civic duty and cast my ballot after work. I voted for about 50% winners. The Republicans carried the top 2 spots in the state. It was pretty much Democrats after that. In the Bristol area for the House and Senate it was a democratic sweep. I`m glad it`s over and like to see all the signs gone.

The weather report this evening said that we are getting temperatures that we normally get in mid to late January. No wonder it`s so darn cold. There isn`t much of a warming trend in the next five day forecast. That could mean trouble down the road as there is no snow cover and the frost will be driven deeper into the ground. Can you say "frozen pipes"? Makes it even worse when the pipes are buried underground. I can remember one winter when I had to hire the local welder to come thaw out the waterline between the street and my basement. Cost me around $60.00. And that was a few years ago. Hope that doesn`t happen again.
Work has been terrible. What with Christmas coming(catalogs) and the election on Tuesday(campaign flyers) it`s been a tough week. A lady I work with(Linda has worked for the PO for 35+ years) said it`s the worst she has ever seen. I know there has been a lot. I`ll be glad when Tuesday gets here. Tomorrow morning will probably be a real joy. I will let you know later.
