The New Year holiday has come and gone. I`m kind of glad to see it go but also kind of sad. There`s always a big build up to the holidays and some let down after they`ve come and gone. Time to start building up to the next one.
We enjoyed quiet holidays with just ourselves. No big partys to attend or anything like that. We have a little tradition that we enjoy with the kids on New Year`s Eve. We celebrate the New Year at about 8:00 in the evening. We have a root beer toast and lots of snacks. We are usually asleep by the time the ball drops in New York City.
Mail volume has been up. We`ve been getting all the Spring flower and seed catalogs. Kind of nice to see the blooming flowers and good looking vegetables on the covers. Makes me want to see Spring get here sooner. The way the weather has been, Spring seems a long way away. We had over 13 inches of snow last Saturday.(My day off) It`s snowed a little bit each day since then. Tomorrow we are supposed to get more snow and it will get a lot colder. Friday they are predicting that the temperature will not get above 10 degrees. Nights will be below zero. Come on Spring. Thank goodness for woolies(long underwear for those unenlightened).
