My weekend off so I`m just hanging around not doing much. The local Catholic Church puts on fish frys every other Friday during lent so I went there and got fish last night and brought it home. Gave some to my mother-in-law and enjoyed the rest myself. No-one else in my house likes fish.(just fishsticks) It was good and there was a large turnout. Tonight we go to the Bristol American Legion for supper. It`s the annual legion birthday supper. Roast pork and all the trimmings. My kids aren`t looking forward to it. They don`t like roast pork. I don`t think they`ve ever really tried it. I`ll make them eat at least a little of it. Won`t hurt them a bit.The sun is shining and it`s up to 31 degrees already. It`s only about 9:00am. We may make it to 40 today. I guess I`ll have to go out and try to divert some of the melting snow and ice away from our front porch. It makes an awful mess when it refreezes.

Back in the deep freeze today. Wind chill well below zero all day. The newspaper said it`s the coldest winter since 1979. I certainly can believe it. We had rain yesterday so there is ice all over the place. I wore my ice cleats and they had sanded but it didn`t do much good. I think it was so cold that the sand just rolled around on the ice. The ice was so hard that my cleats didn`t grip like they normally do. Took me a lot longer to do my route. Plus it`s a Monday so there was extra mail. Things are looking up for later in the week. Upper 30`s by Wednesday. I sure hope so.
