There is a spell over the area or something like that. Yesterday afternoon there was a head-on accident in Hinesburg, a small town about 20 miles North of Bristol. A 46 year old woman and her 5 year old daughter were killed. I found out today that they were from Bristol and were customers of mine. The driver of their car, her 29 year old nephew, is in satisfactory condition in the hospital. The driver and sole occupant of the other car is also hospitalized. Preliminary reports are that the 29 year old crossed the center line and hit the other car. I heard that the victims had been to Burlington for Easter Dinner.
I went to the funeral parlor for calling hours for Ed this afternoon after work. There were lots of people there. I got to offer my condolences to Ed`s family. It`s a sad thing and I think it`s even harder because there is such a long time between his death and the funeral. I realize that with yesterday being Easter it was hard to fit the services in. It must be hard for Ed`s family. Hopefully, tomorrows service will bring some closure to the family.

It`s been a rather sad week. A friend and customer,Ed Tucker, went missing on Monday. A search was started and nothing was found until Wednesday around 4 in the afternoon. His body was found near the river not far from the village. He had died of a self-inflicted gunshot. I didn`t know it until he disappeared, but he had been depressed and in the dumps for a while. He had seemed fine to me. I saw him daily on my deliveries. He was also a good friend. We graduated from high school together. I will miss him very much. He operated a local business selling and installing appliances and carpeting. He will be missed by lots of people.
Another customer died also. She was an older lady that lived at the senior housing here in town. I would see her maybe once or twice a week on delivery. She was a sweet lady that always had a kind word for me.
The support the troops rally went very well. Well enough so that they are doing it again this week. Maybe it`ll be warmer. Boy was it chilly standing there on the park. It got even chillier as that`s where I was when I heard that they`d found Ed`s body. We could also look down the street and see the fire department as they recovered Ed`s body. He was down a steep bank and they had quite a time retrieving him. He had not gotten there by climbing down. He had gone around but that would have been even harder for the fire department to do. I don`t mean to dwell on it but it has really made me think about things. I just can`t make myself believe that things were that difficult for Ed. Either he was very good at hiding the signs or I was incredibly blind. He was always so pleasant when I delivered. I would spend a couple minutes with him each day.Discussing the weather, or his step-daughter that`s serving in the Marines. There was always something to talk to Ed about. I will dearly miss that man.
