The Stampede is over for another year. $66,000.00 and still counting. Contributions continue to come in for about a month after the weekend is over. Might get another $1000.00 or so. It was a great event and the weather was good up until about 3:30 on Sunday afternoon. We set up in the rain and we took everything down in the rain. Nobody minded at all as we all know what we are doing this for. It`s a great feeling when you hear the amount of money that we send to Cystic Fibrosis research. Now we can start planning for next year.
Our cat,Maxine, was hit by a car and killed several weeks ago. Our daughter, Tiffany, was devastated as Maxine spent every night by her bed. To help console Tiffany, we agreed to get a kitten(or two). Well, Saturday, the family(I was working) went to the nearby town of Starksboro and picked up 2 kittens that had been advertised in the paper. They are 2 males and about 14 weeks old. Cute as can be. They haven`t gotten used to the dogs yet and the dogs are still wondering about them. I think that they will all get along just fine after they adjust to each other. Right now, the 2 kittens are laying on my computer desk watching me enter this and are trying to play with my fingers as they fly over the keyboard. They are fun to watch and have a great time playing with each other. That`s one reason that we got 2. So they would keep each other company.
I have the week off but the weather is not being nice. The predicition is for showers and thunderstorms each afternoon right through Friday. Our camper is still at River`s Bend but I don`t know how much time we`ll be able to spend there. That`s the breaks.
